Our 2025 Nulhegan Abenaki Gathering will be held August 22 - 24, 2025 at Mount Norris Scout Reservation in Eden Mills, VT. Note that it is open to the public on the 23rd and 24th only. August 22nd is reserved for Abenaki citizens only.
With its huge dining hall, this is the perfect venue for the Gathering, since it will take place rain or shine! The Gathering will be open to the public from from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on the 23rd and and from 10:00 am to noon on the 24th.
Throughout the weekend there will be singing, storytelling, drumming, and dancing along with other activities to be enjoyed by adults and children. For example, you will have the opportunity to learn how to pound ash and throw a tomahawk. You can watch a basketmaker or a flintmaker and ask questions. There will also be Abenaki vendors so you can go shopping!
Lunch will be provided to the public on Saturday. Donations will be accepted. Camping is available on a first come, first served basis. Contact misslucyn@gmail.com for special dietary needs (for example - gluten free) or information about camping facilities that will be available, starting Friday, August 22nd.
NOTICE: Please bring your own water bottle! Water will be available for refills.
Vendors of authentic native crafts will be set up throughout the weekend. Please note that you should bring cash, because many of the vendors have no way to process credit card payments. Though we won't know who all of our vendors will be until that weekend, you may find all sorts of great hand-made and hand-crafted items at the Gathering. Many of our citizens are great artists and you may find items such as hand-woven baskets, drums, rattles, jewelry, bags, pouches, paintings, professional photographic prints, children's books, and much more. Last year, we even had one of our youngest citizens selling some marvelous customized tea blends!
Attention Abenaki Vendors:
We welcome you to vend at our Gathering with no vendor fee. However, we do request that you contact our Events Committee so we can make plans and let you know the requirements. Please email us at: events@abenakitribe.org
Please note that this is never a powwow - it is a Gathering of friends and family for the Nulhegan Abenaki Tribe. Wearing regalia is optional. The public is always welcome to participate in all of the activities, as well as the meal, and is invited to attend both Saturday and Sunday.
This is a drug and alcohol-free event. Service animals only! No weapons permitted on the grounds.
