Our Mission
AHA “Abenaki Helping Abenaki” Inc. (“AHA”), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization primarily created for charitable, religious and educational purposes. AHA’s mission is to preserve the culture, community awareness, charitable endeavors and outreach of the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki People (“Nulhegan Band”). AHA provides various educational resources to meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of the Nulhegan Band and other Native American students. Also, AHA supplies community members with healthy food and necessary essentials in times of need. Lastly, AHA is committed to educating Nulhegan Band citizens and other Native Americans on traditional, organic, agriculture and sustainable living.

More information about AHA:
- AHA has partnered with The Vermont Bean Company to produce our own corn meal. Our corn meal can be found at any of our Yankee Farmers Market or at Pitcher Mountain Farm in Stoddard, NH.
- AHA owns and supports a bison herd that helps feed our people. The herd is under the care and management of Brian and Keira Farmer of Yankee Farmers Market and Pitcher Mountain Farm and Holistic Roots to help us grow our herd into a sustainable food source to feed our community into the future.
- AHA also partners with multiple farmers and organizations in Vermont and New Hampshire to grow fresh produce that is distributed to the community through its Food Security Programs in Holland, VT, Shelburne, VT, and Contoocook NH.
- AHA supports and operates a maple syrup operation in Contoocook, NH that provides a traditional food source and a means of supporting our food security programs in a small way.
How we use your contributions
Your contributions will enable us to meet our goals, specifically by supporting Abenaki Helping Abenaki, Inc. We are a small not-for-profit (501c3) community-based organization charged with addressing the social, economic, cultural, and health needs of the Abenaki and American Indian communities.
